Huh. You are choosing Function, then Take Screenshot? If so, I don't know what the issue is. I also run it in XP mode, but that may or may not fix it.

Greetings, Daria
I asked my dog about your MGE question.
She said dogs don't use computers, 'cause they can't help attacking the screen whenever they hear, "You've Got Mail..."
As a side note, if you end up opting for a special screenshot program, Neildarkstar recommended this one to me:
Neildarkstar -- "Sometimes screen shots can be difficult. There is a site called "Analog X" that has a number of interesting utilities (not Morrowind utilities, mind you), and one in particular called "Capture" that will often take a screen shot when nothing else will. I use it quite often to take screen shots from movies I'm playing on DVD...
Look for Capture in his "System" area. On a side note, be careful about using some of his stuff, because you may find yourself in over your head even on some of the things he feels you don't need to be an advanced user to run...."

a warm hello for you, Daria! I bet you'll like it here! :bouncy: :bouncy: :bouncy:

Hey! A warm welcome is always... welcomed. (:

Jac: Yeah I choose press1 and then... nothing. MGE won't let me go any further. I'll try XP mode, and failing that use DARoot's suggestion of "Capture".

DARoot: I don't blame your dog for avoiding the computer. I'd probably go ballistic too if I was still using AOL.

CApture is a handy little utility, I use it a lot but...

It won't work for your problem. I recommended it to DARoot because he was wanting to take screenshots in the CS, and it is perfect for getting those nice icon shots. In-game is different however, because there is no way to set a key that will work in-game that I know of.

This is just a thought, but can you manually enable screenshots in your .ini? After MGE has made its adjustments and you've got it set, open the .ini and find the line that says "screenshots enabled = 0" (it should be in general not very far in) and change the 0 to 1. That should work unless something in MGE changes it back on startup.

After doing that, print screen will presumably be the key,and screenshots will show up in your Morrowind folder.

Press 1? I'm not following.

Jac said to make sure you're using the MGE macro editor, not the key re-mapper.

The Macro type. Press1 means basically to press the key once for effect.

Neil: Did that, but MGE breaks the ingame screenshot functionality.

Elaura: I am using the editor.

I don't think you should be using Press1. This is how mine was setup:

MGE screenshot.jpg

I clicked on the PS key, selected Function, then Take Screenshot. After that, I pressed the save button and haven't had any issues at all with it aside from that message saying screenshots weren't enabled.

Neil, MGE disables Morrowind's ability to take screenshots via the ini file, which is why you need to create a macro to do it.
