Prisoner

Like my other stuff, I wrote this some time ago. I'm trying to get back into writing, but having trouble focusing, I keep hoping that handling the older pieces will help. *sigh*

Prisoner

I navigate current and tide
Traversing shifting sands
Swirling murk shrouding
Precipitous bulwarks
Anchors of your love

I return
Return again and again
Captive flotsam
To the lacerated cacophony of my heartbeat
To you

Without resistance

You
Covetous fisher
Reeling me in
Your cherished enigma

Only to release me

Again and again

My mutilated form
Ensanguined
Breathless

Dazzled
Blind to my wounds
In wonderment and innocence
You wrest from me

Shimmering moments

Intoxicated
Enraptured
Iridescent union in sapphire hues

Within
The fleeting perceptions
Of desire, of words

In oblivious noble homage
Blind to my bleeding

From the sanctity
Of your sheltered shore
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe:
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion;
I've watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate.
All those moments ... will be lost ... in time ... like tears in rain.

OMG, now THERE is some "Mental Imagery" to keep ya goin' ...
Well Done, Dragon Wench!
