New Arroyo NV

Postby Fenrir » Sun Feb 22, 2015 11:04 am

So, I assume some of you have heard of the Real Time Settler mod?
If not, well, there you go. It's rather interesting (Albeit a bit irritating trying to get it to do what I want)
And, naturally, I assume you all know of Arroyo from Fallout 2?
Well, I found a lovely little mod that adds the Canyon from Arroyo, and a little tent across the rope bridge - All that remains of the village, sadly.
My plan is to use RTS to build New Arroyo. Going to be a pain since that Canyon lacks any resources at all, and this mod doesn't seem to have much available in terms of long distance building (everything needs to be relatively close right now, but the mod mentions a market now and then that might resolve that problem)

So I'll be posting the progress on that project here, and maybe releasing New Arroyo as an RTS preset thing, if I can get permission from RTS' author and the author of Dry Canyon.

Also, if any of you have any suggestions for the design or the town, or what should be in it, feel free to speak.

Having issues getting wood to the place, but it sounds like I might be able to drop "packed wood" and that might make it available in this terribly barren canyon.
I might be able to make this work.

No, supposed to "Deploy" the wood, not drop it. Built a few shelters, got a farm and a market (Though the market doesn't seem to be helping much)

New Arroyo is well on its way.

Yep. Packed wood. Might do nicely. Then again, you need a mechanical pencil and a notebook in hand, sketch out plans, and go ahead.

Nothing beats listening to "I'm my Own Grandpa" on mojave music radio while building a settlement in the dust of another.

New Arroyo's coming along nicely. Ended up restarting it because I didn't like the setup and it would've been too big a pain to manually move everything.

I'm about satisfied with it now. Anything y'all want me to add?

Character lives in that tent on the ridge. Used RTS' blueprinting function to give him some storage and benches. The geography is vastly different from FO2's original Arroyo, but given it's position, I imagine the tent is supposed to be Hakunin's or the Elder's.
